A short story written to share with young children during topic work on Kings and Queens, Famous people or King Charles 111 Coronation in May 2023. The story is about a Prince who loses his crown and eventually it is found. There is a page sharing flashcards of characters in the story and objects such as the crown and the palace. Children can use the picture or symbol board to help them to retell the story themselves. A lesson to teach, assess or consolidate colours for young children. Start with sharing the poster - sheet 1 and discussing the colours shown. Can children think of things that may be these colours? The next 3 sheets each show two colours, so children can distinguish between these and locate objects that are in each colour e.g a red apple and a yellow crayon. Colours used in the resource are red, green, yellow, blue, pink and orange. Sheet 5 contains the objects seen in all the previous sheets. Children can have a copy of this sheet and locate each of the objects as you share sheets 2,3 and 4. Sheet 6 is a colouring sheet, children recall the colours of the various objects and then colour them in on the worksheet.
